ITEM:  Sen. Stabenow’s Husband Nailed in Prostitution Bust

Bad day for Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.). Her husband, Thomas Athans, cofounder of a liberal talk radio network, and at one time an exec involved with AIR AMERICA RADIO, is cooperating with police in an Internet-based prostitution bust at hotels in Troy, Mich., according to the Detroit Free Press. He paid $150 for sex with a hooker, admitted it, but police are not pressing charges. Who knows why? I guess to toy in Troy is a joy! Eliot Spitzer was heard to whine, “Hey, wait a minute, he got off cheap!”

ITEM:  Air America Host Suspended for Clinton Remarks

Bad day for Randi Rhodes, afternoon host for the progressive Air America radio network. She was suspended after repeatedly insulting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at an event last month. Ms. Rhodes used vulgar language that likened Mrs. Clinton to a prostitute at an event sponsored by KKGN, the Air America affiliate in the San Francisco area, on March 22. A video of Ms. Rhodes’ remarks was published to the video-sharing Web site YouTube on Tuesday, prompting condemnations by some bloggers. In a statement, Charlie Kireker, the chair of Air America, said the radio network “encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our hosts.” (Oh, and she called Geraldine Ferraro a f*****g whore as well.) (Presumably Mr. Kireker did not suspend Mr. Athans because he didn’t call anyone a hooker, he only slept with one.)

AIR AMERICA radio, the bastion of truth and decency, the nation’s only “progressive” talk radio network, has floundered since its inception. With “talent” like Rocky Rhodes, Big Ed Schultz and Weird Al Frankinstein, it is hard to understand their systemic failure. One would think their mission to bury Limbaugh would have been a walk in the park given the full backing of Dem fat cats and talent like this.

Apparently infidelity is rampant within the ranks however. Spouses and old political allies are disposable in consideration of the greater good.

Scandal and financial irregularities have plagued the organization. Perhaps they’ll have to refinance, regroup and rethink their slogan:

“Leaking the Truth 24 Hours a Day”

Hilarious to watch people with no moral compass assume the moral high ground and then fall into disrepair because of immorality.

It may be their only hope is the Fairness Doctrine, another oxymoron, akin to Randi Rhodes — journalist.

ITEM:  Madonna & Timberlake: “4 Minutes”

Madonna has a new music video out. She sings: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions…” Original. Does she even know what she means anymore? Unwittingly she fingered the essential problem with liberalism.

ITEM:  Clinton Denies Saying Obama ‘Cannot Win’

Hillary claimed she was dodging bullets in Bosnia in ‘96, but had to acknowledge her “misstatement” when CBS produced a video showing nothing of the kind. Then, dodging more bullets, she said she never said Obama cannot beat McCain, even though others insist she told Bill Richardson that very thing. Confronted again today, her answer was so obtuse as to beg the question again and again. Of course she said it. The rule of thumb with the Clintons is this: take what they say, posit the exact opposite, and believe that. In this way you approach the truth.

EX: “I never had sexual relations with that woman.”

EX: “I will give you universal national healthcare.”

EX: “I will defend gay rights.”

EX: “I opposed NAFTA.”

EX: “This campaign is all about average Americans.”

EX: “Trust me at 3:00 a.m.”

EX: “I’m ready to be commander in chief on day one.”

EX: “I don’t know where those FBI files are.”

EX: “I’ve been in public service all my life.”

EX: “What illegal campaign contributions?”

EX: “Bill Richardson is Jesus.”

EX: “I’ve never asked anyone to do anything illegal.”

EX: “Barack Obama and I will be friends after all this is over.”

EX: “I stayed with Bill because it was best for my family.”

EX: “The Democratic Party will be unified in August.”

ITEM:  Ted Turner: Global warming could lead to cannibalism

Ted Turner says the world has too many people, the insurgents are winning in Iraq, global warming will make cannibals of all of us in a few years, China only wants to sell us shoes, the Russians only want to be friends, the women news readers on CNN are “chickies,” and to sum up, he said:

“It’s been a long time since anybody caught me saying something stupid.”

Guess it’s time to restart the clock! (At least he sobered up long enough to speak in complete sentences!)

ITEM:  Jane Fonda: ‘Obama!’

Jane Fonda endorses Obama. (She used to endorse Ted, but no more. She doesn’t hang with people who say stupid things.)

ITEM:  Carter hints at supporting Obama

Jimmy Carter, fighting worms in Nigeria, hints he will endorse Obama. We don’t know yet if James Carville will call him Judas, or claim him as a dear friend. Stay tuned. Carter said today the Obama campaign has been “titillating for me.” Is he still lusting in his heart, or doing combat with rabbits?

FINAL ITEM:  States may free inmates to save millions

AP – Lawmakers from California to Kentucky are trying to save money with a drastic and potentially dangerous budget-cutting proposal: releasing tens of thousands of convicts from prison, including drug addicts, thieves and even violent criminals. (Guess they have to make room for Naomi Campbell too.) Brilliant plan, Lawmakers! Release the LawBreakers to save money the lawmakers wasted in the first place! Now we really will need universal healthcare! The emergency rooms will be busting at the seams.)
