permalink  Obama Sought Endorsement of Marxist Third Party

The New Party was a Marxist third party that operated briefly in Chicago between 1992 and 1998. When he ran for the state senate in 1996, Barack Obama sought and obtained their endorsement, and won the race. According to Discover The Networks:

….the New Party was a Marxist political coalition whose objective was to endorse and elect leftist public officials — most often Democrats. The New Party’s short-term objective was to move the Democratic Party leftward, thereby setting the stage for the eventual rise of new Marxist third party.

Most New Party members hailed from the Democratic Socialists of America and the militant organization ACORN. The party’s Chicago chapter also included a large contingent from the Committees of Correspondence, a Marxist coalition of former Maoists, Trotskyists, and Communist Party USA members….

Though Illinois was not one of the states that permitted electoral fusion, in 1995 Barack Obama nonetheless sought the New Party’s endorsement for his 1996 state senate run. He was successful in obtaining that endorsement, and he used a number of New Party volunteers as campaign workers.

Carl Davidson is a leading US Marxist.

He is former member of the ’60s radical group Students for a Democratic Society (which spawned the terrorist Weather Underground) and spent many years working in various Maoist organisations….

Davidson wrote:

I’m from Chicago, too, and known Obama from the time he came to the New Party to get our endorsement for his first race ever. I’ve been in his home, and as an IL legislator, he’s helped or community technology movement a number of times. He said all the right things to the ACORN and New Party folks, and we endorsed him….

There was nothing ‘Marxist’ about the New Party’s platform or positions. From a pragmatist outlook, it stood for consistent small ‘d’ democracy. The major player within it was ACORN, which everyone knows is Alinskyist reformist, not Marxist.

Hello, Carl. Thanks for visiting us and joining in the conversation. While groups such as ACORN and the “New Party” are certainly 180 degrees out of phase with our political viewpoints here at American Daughter, we cherish the freedom of speech that allows us all to put our ideas before the public and compare them. It would be interesting to know more about the ideas that shaped Obama’s early years — more specifics about the New Party platform, if you still have that info in your archives.

I don’t know why Mr. Davidson draws a distinction between “Marxist” and “Alinskyist reformist,” since Alinsky sought the same things as Marxists, namely the overthrow of our system of government for a centrally planned economy, a la Marxism. Any distinction is largely due to the particular tactics he devised to accomplish the goal.

But the distinction is suspect in any event. ACORN grew out of the 1960s New Left movement, most notably the National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO), who’s founder, George Wiley, taught ACORN’s leader Wade Radke everything he knew when Radke worked as an organizer for Wiley’s NWRO.

Radke was also an SDS member and I am sure is familiar to Mr. Davidson. Surely Mr. Davidson is not suggesting SDS was a “small ‘d’ democracy” movement? SDS was no more a “small ‘d’ democracy” advocacy movement than the “Democratic” Republic of North Korea is a “small ‘d’ democracy.” God, I’d laugh, if I wasn’t crying.

Radke extended Wiley’s use of the Cloward-Piven strategy to introduce chaos to our voting system in a deliberate effort to further push this nation toward collapse.

For background, Cloward and Piven were Columbia professors who penned a 1966 article in The Nation magazine advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government using our own institutions to create chaos. Their initial proposal centered on placing ever increasing loads and demands on our welfare system, until it crashed of its own weight. The plan was then to enlist dissatisfied welfare recipients as foot soldiers in the civil war to follow. (As a defender of the Soviet Union and reviler of all things American, The Nation, one of America’s oldest radical lefist rags, was certainly no “small ‘d’ democracy” publication either.)

Anyway, Wiley’s NWRO was directly inspired by Cloward/Piven and his efforts were largely responsible for the bankcruptcy of New York City in 1975.

Radke’s ACORN strives to implement the Cloward Piven strategy to our voting system. By registering dead people – repeatedly – illegals, fraudulently registering random names from the phone book, you name it, ACORN seeks to pack the voter rolls with reliable “small ‘d’ democrats” not merely to stack the deck in their favor, but to make the whole system so questionable as to render it virtually useless. ACORN was behind the “motor voter” law and activates all movements you can name to resist properly identifying legitimate voters and bring sanity and reliability to the vote. ACORN has been implicated in multiple voter fraud schemes across the U.S. by the way, in case anyone doubts these words.

Other Wiley acolytes have initiated vote programs with similar goals in mind as well. Project Vote was founded by ACORN co-founder Zach Pollett. Human SERVE, another voting rights group was founded by Cloward and Piven themselves. These and other groups comprise a voting “rights” movement, which today depend on large contributions from George Soros organizations.

Charming folks! “Marxist?” “Alinskyist reformists?” Who cares!! I am still trying to figure out how this ever helped the poor. Mr. Davidson will probably answer to himself that “the revolution has not been completely accomplished yet.” Ah yes, once they get complete control, that’s when we’re gonna see things happen. Just look at the shining examples of Cuba, North Korea and Russia for your bedazzled inspiration!

And maybe they’re hoping to rely on Barack Obama to bring this lifelong ambition to its fruitful conclusion. God help us from such titanic fools!

Hey Carl. I met Alinsky in 1971 when he came to speak at the University of the Pacific. Bare-knuckled activist and political genius as you know. Brought the Chicago style to a wider audience: get it done at most any cost. Do you think Obama is better at it than Hillary, or do you think this news story is a hit piece, as Obama asserts?
