Stridently anti-Semetic material appeared on the official website for the Barack Obama campaign — Obama ‘08. One of the first bloggers to notice was Doug Ross — Official Obama blog explains how the Jewish Lobby Works:

Yet another hateful blog has sprung up on Barack Obama’s official site. The group Socialists for Obama offers a meandering tome that spews bile and vitriol while railing against the all-powerful “Jewish lobby.”

The ever-vigilant Little Green Footballs, famous for exposing Dan Rather’s forged TANG memos, quickly grabbed a graphic from the Obama website. Those LGF fellows know that proof may be needed, and that web pages can be sanitized.

There’s something deeply wrong with a presidential candidate who attracts so many of these hateful psychotics. Read the comments; you just won’t believe what is allowed to be posted at Barack Obama’s web site.

Over at Powerline, blogger Hindrocket jumped on the news, so its wide propagation through the Blogosphere was assured.

It’s no surprise that Barack Obama’s campaign is attractive to anti-semites. Still, it’s a little shocking to find anti-semitic propaganda on Obama’s official web site.

Just as fast as the bloggers started exposing this material, the Obamatons hastened to cover their tracks. At Hot Air, AllahPundit noted:

Not only is the post gone, but Charles [LGF] says they’ve gone the extra mile and taken measures to scrub it from the Google cache and Internet archive too. (How is that possible?) Note to self: Next time you see something like this at Obama HQ, be sure to screencap.

If the official John McCain for President website featured an anti-Semitic article about the Jewish lobby, would media report it?

Probably so much so that the Republican presidential nominee would be forced to issue an explanation and an apology.

…. when you realize this is on Obama’s website, you really have to start wondering about not just the candidate, but people’s whose job it is to vet the site and make sure excrement like this doesn’t appear…. Let’s pretend that this blog post appeared on John McCain’s website. Let’s pretend it was seen by lefty bloggers. Let’s pretend that your average lefty blogger isn’t a screaming meemie of an anti-semite but rather a rational human being.
Can you imagine the hue, the cry, and the hue again that would be raised against McCain? The guy would be run out of the race on a rail. But the Annointed One can get away with this because 1) Lefty bloggers really don’t care about this kind of hate speech; and 2) Obamamessiah can do no wrong.

Stop The ACLU Blog — Obama Site Scrubbed of Anti-Jewish Stuff

UPDATE, June 9 — Huffington Post is criticizing the Blogosphere discussion of the anti-Semetic material as a right-wing conspiracy, and avowing that the poor misunderstood Obamatons are not responsible for material on the official campaign website. Here is discerning comment in which a reader sets them straight:

1) These were not a few “comments” as you call them but dozens ( hundereds ?) of full scale blogs on the Obama 08 official web site focused on one topic, Jew hatred, whose creation was officaly approved by the Obama web site moderators. The rules for creating these blogs is right there on the Obama web site and you can see for yourself that it says the blogs will only be allowed after review and approval by the Obama web staff.

2) Many of these blogs existed for not “minutes” as you claim but have been there on Obama’s site for months.

3) Some of these racist blogs on the Obama 08 look so fishy that they very well may have been created as dirty tricks as you say, but were then let through as mistakes by the Obama moderators as you neglect to acknowledge. The Obama web site has the IP addresses of the originators, and if they are able to trace a single one back to a known Republican activist then I will believe you. It is a criminal offense by the way. Until then, please put up some real evidence for your kooky conspiracy theory or shut up.

Ever since this material surfaced, I have been asking myself — If the Obama crowd cannot manage a website, how do they plan to manage the country?
