The big buzz yesterday was a Breitbart video that compiled eight clips of Obama lying during the campaign. It was the same lie each time — that the health care negotiations would be “transparent” and would be televised on C-SPAN.

Now the eight promises had been around for a long time. But at the end of December, C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb asked that the promise be kept. He sent a letter to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi:

As your respective chambers work to reconcile the differences between the House and Senate health care bills, C-SPAN requests that you open all important negotiations, including any conference committee meetings, to electronic media coverage.

The C-SPAN networks will commit the necessary resources to covering all of these sessions LIVE and in their entirety. We will also, as we willingly do each day, provide C-SPAN’s multi-camera coverage to any interested member of the Capitol Hill broadcast pool….

What thrust this all into the foreground yesterday was Nancy Pelosi’s flippant response during a televised briefing aired on C-SPAN:

“There are a number of things that he swore on the campaign trail.”

The arrogant disregard that these politicians have for the American people shows no bounds! They can openly laugh and say that all the promises they made were campaign rhetoric, and expect that no one will care. It suggests that famous phrase, “Let them eat cake.”
